High-Performance Silica Fume for Stronger, Denser & More Durable Concrete
AXIOMIX Microsilica, also known as Silica Fume, is an ultra-fine mineral material used as a supplementary material in concrete. Its extremely fine particles react with components in cement and help create a denser concrete structure.
It helps improve concrete strength, durability and resistance to water penetration, making it suitable for high-performance concrete and construction projects exposed to demanding conditions.
AXIOMIX Microsilica is suitable for RCC structures, high-strength concrete, bridges, tunnels, marine structures, industrial projects, precast concrete and other infrastructure applications.
Stronger Concrete. Lower Permeability. Longer Service Life.
What is Microsilica?
Microsilica, commonly known as Silica Fume, is an extremely fine material containing a high amount of amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO₂). It is obtained as a by-product during the production of silicon metal and ferrosilicon alloys.
Because its particles are much finer than ordinary cement particles, Microsilica can fill very small spaces within concrete. It also reacts with calcium hydroxide produced during cement hydration and helps form additional calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H), which is an important component responsible for concrete strength.
The result is a denser and stronger concrete structure with reduced permeability.
Key Benefits of AXIOMIX Microsilica
1. Improves Concrete Strength
Microsilica helps improve the internal structure of concrete and supports the development of higher-strength concrete.
2. Reduces Water Permeability
Its very fine particles help fill small gaps within the concrete, making it more difficult for water and moisture to pass through.
3. Creates Denser Concrete
Microsilica helps produce a tighter and more compact concrete structure, improving overall concrete performance.
4. Enhances Durability
The denser concrete structure can provide better resistance against demanding environmental conditions and help extend the service life of structures.
5. Improves Resistance to Aggressive Conditions
Microsilica can help concrete perform better in environments where structures are exposed to moisture, chemicals, salts and other aggressive conditions.
6. Supports High-Performance Concrete
It is widely used in concrete mixes where higher strength, lower permeability and improved durability are important.
7. Helps Improve Concrete Surface Quality
A properly designed Microsilica concrete mix can provide a denser and more refined concrete surface.
How Does AXIOMIX Microsilica Work?
Microsilica works in two important ways.
Fills Tiny Spaces: The extremely fine particles of Microsilica fill small spaces between cement particles and other materials in the concrete mix.
Supports Additional C-S-H Formation Microsilica reacts with calcium hydroxide released during cement hydration. This reaction helps produce additional C-S-H gel, which contributes to the strength and density of concrete.
Simple Process: Microsilica Added → Fine Particles Fill Small Voids → Chemical Reaction Takes Place → Denser Concrete Structure → Improved Strength & Durability
